Assertion Failed

I am running Windows 11 and updated version of Lightroom Classic version 12.1 and cannot open it due to Assertion Failed. I went back to earlier version 12 and still have the same problem.

Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

Correct answer Rob_Cullen

There is an Adobe Help page on this topic-

Assertion failed- update error | Windows

It seems to be caused by locating your (default?) Windows 'Libraries' (Documents, Pictures, Videos) in different folder locations.  (eg. I have "Documents" on my D:drive)

I'd suggest removing Lightroom, restart the computer and the reinstall from the CC Desktop app.

Don't worry, your catalog and all of your image data won't be touched by this.
