Question

Auto Stacking doesn't group bracketed photos

I want to automatically group more photos in one imported folder to HDR Photo Merge to quickly process them in a batch according to my own settings. Auto Stacking by Capture Time does not work for bracketed photos taken with long exposure times at different time intervals. No time interval setting can detect stacks of 3 exposures (-3/0/+3 EV). Is there another method? For example, the simplest one - grouping after a certain number of photos in order.

Simply put, no. You can only auto stack by time. It does work for longer brackted exposures if the time between shots is longer than the longest bracketed exposure as I regularly shoot HDR for landscapes and real estate, as well as drone work. Otherwise you have to do it manually.

You could go to the Ideas forum here, and follow the How do I write a Feature Request post: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-ideas/how-do-i-write-a-feature-request/idi-p/12386378

You're asking for Auto stacking by image quantity, which IMHO is a more than reasonable request given that Merge to HDR is usually in fixed bracket sets.

@Sean McCormack Thanks Sean, and it would seem like such a simple function. For example, in PTGui it makes batch processing much easier and faster.
