Correct answer carlos_cortez

@carlos_cortez, thank you for confirming the details. I tested Auto Import using the CR3 files provided by you from a Canon R5 on my end, and it works as expected. This confirms the issue is not related to the CR3 file type itself.

Please try the following checks:

  • Compare your Auto Import settings with the ones shown in the attached screenshot and ensure they match exactly.

  • Create a new test folder on your Desktop, set it as the Watched Folder, and drop a CR3 file there to see if it auto-imports.

  • In your current path (/Users/carloscortez/Pictures/ftp/r5), can you confirm whether the ftp folder is tied to any background service, sync, or server process? Even if it appears local, active services can interfere with Auto Import monitoring.

Let me know what you observe after testing this.

Hi @carlos_cortez,

Thanks for posting this. I can help look into it, but I’ll need a bit more detail first, since Auto Import should normally work with CR3 files.

Please check and confirm the following.

• Which camera model are you using?
• Are these standard CR3 files, or Canon Dual Pixel RAW files?
• Does the watched folder path contain any special characters or accents in the folder or file names?

• Where is the watched folder located: Local internal drive, External drive, Network, or server location like OneDrive, iCloud, or another sync service?

Additionally, please upload one or two sample CR3 files via Google Drive or a similar service and share the link here so we can test the Auto Import behavior on our end.

Once we have this information, we can determine whether the issue is related to a file, a folder access issue, or something specific to the camera’s CR3 format.

Best regards,
Anshul Saini
