Background won't refresh.

Hi,

When changing from 'Grid View' to 'Loupe View', the background is stuck as the 'Grid View' instead of the 'grey' background. Similar to when the screen won't refresh and you are stuck with the previous page display.

If anyone can shed some light would be more than greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

PT

Hi Pt,

Please try updating Lightroom Classic to build 7.01 from the creative cloud application and let us know if it fixes this issue for you.

If it doesn't work then try the steps mentioned below:

Try this workaround to see if it works for you. If not, delete the config.lua file afterwards.

1. Choose Edit > Preferences. In the Preferences dialog, go the Presets tab.

2. In the Presets tab, click the Show Lightroom Presets Folder button.

3. The root preset folder opens in the File Explorer.

4. In the File Explorer, navigate into the Lightroom folder.

5. Go to the link https://adobe.ly/2hUHGYa and download the config.lua file. Copy the downloaded config.lua file into the Lightroom folder mentioned in the previous step.

6. Relaunch Lightroom Classic CC.

The System Info dialog (Help > System Info) should display the config.lua flags entry as shown below: Config.lua-Flags: AgView.disableDirect2D = true

Sahil

Hi Sahil,

Thanks for the prompt response. I updated the drivers and tried the graphics processor again. It did not correct the problem. The screen is overlayed with previous images. It could be that my computer has an older processor: NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M (10.0.16299.64).

I also am having a problem with the map page (display is black, but, the map is somewhere in the background because the location name changes as I drag the map to the north, south, east, or west). I presume this also is a graphics issue.

Ken

Ken, your Graphics processor seems to be compatible with Photoshop: Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) card FAQ

Could you try adding Lightroom under 3D Program settings in the Nvidia control panel?

Hi Sahil,

Thanks for continuing to work on this. I looked at the NVIDIA 3D setup software and Lightroom was already added. I activated the NVIDIA card rather than letting the computer select. This did not resolve the issue after I activated the graphics card. The screen does not refresh in areas unaffected by the selection.

Thanks,

Ken

I also have the same problem. Please provide a fix as using Lightroom is difficult without the fix.

Thanks,

Ken

I disabled "Use Graphics Processor" in Preferences/Performance and it appears to have correct the problem. Please let me know if there is a way to correct it with the graphics processor engaged.

Hi Ken,

Please try updating the Graphics Drivers from manufacturer's website, then check "Use Graphics Processor" again.

Dear Sahil,

Wow! I can not thank you enough.

FYI, after updating to 7.01 the issue remained, however after dropping your file into the targeted folder the issue was resolved.

If you are not too busy would you mind very briefly tell me what was going on?

Many, many thanks once again.

With warmest regards,

PT

Glad to know we got it working PT, the issue was actually with the installation of the software, we just needed to download and add that additional file and it fixed the issue. Feel free to reach out to us for any future queries.
