Basic adjustment sliders do not default to zero.

My LRC sets these default settings when I edit a RAW file. How can I set them to zero by default?

Unless you are applying a preset on import, these settings originate from the camera.

Many mirrorless cameras write camera settings to raw files as XMP, which LrC understands and honors.

To fix this, either zero out all settings in the camera, or create a preset in LrC with all sliders set how you want them.

You can set LrC to apply this preset automatically on import.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. My point was that i need the reset button to also reset everything to zero. this only works if the preset is set as the global default. but i finally got there using your link.

This is a common misunderstanding. The Reset button does not reset everything to zero, but resets the image to the camera default.

Do you assign a template during the import of the images? If yes delete this in the import dialog.

 

 

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.
