Batch entry into Location field

Question

In LR Classic, I enter keywords into multiple photos at the same time. I want to use the same batch method for one of the Location fields in my metadata. Despite seeing descriptions online saying I can do just that, it doesn't work.  Suggestions, please?

Make sure you are in Library Grid view (multiple thumbnails showing in the main panel), not Loupe view (one large preview showing). And at the top of the Metadata panel, ensure that Selected photos is highlighted, not Target Photo.

(It's a badly designed user interface.)
