Becomes unresponsive during import

My Lightroom Classic recently updated to the latest version, and now every time I try to import photos, it makes it through the first 8 or so and becomes unresponsive. My only recourse is to go to task manager and exit the program.

Not only is LrC crashing, but it is also causing nstability issues with my system. After attempting an import, clicking on the Windows icon - which usually allows me tp pick from a list of applications to launch - does nothing; in other words, the Windows menu stops working on my computer altogether!

Other functionality in the app seems to be working; I am able to edit and export photos just fine.

LrC was working fine the last time I used it, about 3 weeks ago. Is there any way to rollback the changes and go back to the last stable version?

... in other words, the Windows menu stops working on my computer altogether!

Does the entire computer crash, meaning you have to restart the computer?

Please tell us the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic, and the version NUMBER of Windows. We need version NUMBERs and not words like "latest" or "up-to-date".

Where are the photos you are importing? Camera card in card reader, camera card in camera, hard disk, somewhere else?
