Question

Before images in Develop module are blank in Lightroom Classic 15.4.1

After upgrading to Lightroom Classic 15.4.1, I find that the Before image in the Develop module is often blank.  I have undertaken all of the possible troubleshooting steps with no success.

Downgrading to 15.3.1 solves the problem in a new catalog but if I then upgrade that new catalog to 15.4.1 the problem returns.

Is this a known bug???

I see what you mean now. My main processing machine is a Win 11 PC. The Y before and after is working fine there.

Maybe some Mac users can check in on this.

Thanks for the steps, @Howard Clarke. I can recreate this, but not consistently. I've shared this for review.

    Thanks!

What type of computer are you using? Mac or Win? What is the exact version of your operating system?

Please post a screen shot of the full LrC window so we can see what you are talking about.

Running Mac OS 26.5.2 on a Mac Pro.  Here is a sequence to illustrate the problem and demonstrate my current work-around.

I start with an adjustment in the Develop Module…

Then press the Y key and see the Before image doesn’t load...

If I then toggle the YY icon...

Four times back to the Before/After side by side view, the Before image appears correctly...

Please let me know if there is any other information I can provide.
