Question

Blue areas (artefacts) when using GPU for picture processing/export on Mac

I do get massive artefacts (blue areas of rectangular shapes) when developing or exporting large DNGs with complex image processing (i.e. various AI functions applied) on my Apple M2 and Apple M4 Max machines (tested on both laptop and latest MacStudio M4). They disappear when turning of the graphics processor in Lightroom presets.

Apple M4 Max, 64 GB Ram, macOS Tahoe 26.5
Apple M2, 24 GB Ram, macOS Tahoe 26.5

Blue artefacts show both in Library and Develop views, but with different shapes. In develop modules, they sometimes disappear after a minute (some internal refresh?), but unfortunately not all of them. The concerned images do have smart previews and are using virtual copies. They are based on compressed DNGs generated with DXOPureRaw v6 (from Nikon Z8 full resolution NEFs).
I am running Excire Search 2026 v5 (latest) as a plugin in Lightroom.

Unfortunately the blue areas are also showing in the exported files for printing.

Please help as I am stuck now in my workflow...

Please provide a screen capture of the problem. Use the “Insert Image” icon; do not use the paperclip icon.

What is the version NUMBER of your Lightroom Classic? We need version NUMBER and not words like “latest” or “up-to-date”.

Attach a problem DNG here and we can see if the issue occurs on other LR configurations or is particular to yours.
