Hi all, happy 2018!

I am happy with Lightroom CC Classic 7.0.0. because this one is stable.

But when I want to update to the 7.0.1. version Lightroom gives after 5 minutes or so a BSOD (blue screen of death)

My computer shuts down and reboots.

I have the same issue with Photoshop CC latest version when I open more than one image at a time.

I also get a BSOD and my computer reboots.

Who can help me out??

My system:

PC Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with latest updates installed

Processor i7-7820X CPU @ 3.60GHz

32 GB RAM

NVIDEA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti with latest drivers installed

SOLUTION FOUND!!

Upgrade the Gigabyte current BIOS version to X299 Aorus Gaming 3 F7
I did this with the Aorus App Center.

Lightroom 7.2 runs stable now. Performance with CPU enabled still slows a bit down while using so I turned off CPU acceleration.
Works fine for me now.

I am having the exact same issue with Lightroom Classic CC v7.1  [ 1148620 ].  After a few minutes of use I get a blue screen of death.  My system also includes an NVIDIA 1080Ti.  It's drivers are up to date.  I haven't tried Lightroom 7.0x and don't want to roll back.  Is an updated coming that will address this?

Graphics Processor Info:

DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti (23.21.13.9065)

Lightroom Classic version: 7.1 [ 1148620 ]

Language setting: en

Operating system: Windows 10 - Business Edition

Version: 10.0.16299

Hello, Mr @36277122

As stated above, blue screen of death are hardware malfunctions or bad video driver. So, Adobe will not be issuing a fix. You have to diagnose the problem in your ahrdware or video driver.

We are a few weeks further now and I was happy to see there was a Lighroom 7.1 version available this week.
I did an upgrade to version 7.1 but unfortunately no succes, Windows crashed again showing the blue screen after using Lightroom for 10 minutes or so.

The weirdest thing is that I have no problems on version 7.0, but the blue screen appears only in version 7.0.1 and 7.1 and in Photoshop any version when opening more than 5 photo's. So I already rolled back to version 7.0.....lucky me that still works.

From another thread I read that a solution to the blue screen was to uninstall the Intel Boost 3.0 app and disable the Turbo Boost in the bios menu. I tried this but unfortunately this did not help.

I also checked a possible overheating of the graphic card.

There are two cooling fans at the graphic card, they don't even run faster! Dust can also not be the problem, for the card is just new!

So, I still have blue screens at Lightroom Classic CC version 7.0.1 and 7.1.
Version 7.0 is safe but for optimal performance I prefer to upgrade to 7.1.

Are there any suggestions left that I can do?
Checking a hardware malfunction, where to start??

First Update to LR C CC 7.1 which the most current version.

Then Yes Reinstall the Video drives.

Blue screen of death is always a corrupted video driver (re-install your video driver) or a hardware malfunction (run diagnostics on all hardware and make sure your computer's fans are working properly)

Hi dj_paige,

Do you mean re-install the graphic card and its drivers?

Is the Nvidea GeForce GTX 1080 Ti maybe the problem because this card is 'too new' for the CC ??

Yes to drivers, no to card

No. It is possible the driver is corrupt, or needs to be updated.

Hi janv41475730,

Sorry that Photoshop and Lightroom are crashing on your computer. Could you please help us with the Photoshop's Help>>System info report so that we may check the specifications of your computer. Also, do you have an integrated and an once dedicated Graphics card units in your computer? Disabling one of the GPU's might help in narrowing the issue. Refer Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues

Regards,

Akash
