Brother Printer no longer working with Lightroom

I have a Brother printer MFC5890CN which used to work quite happily from Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC, now when I select print in either of these programs it crashes. They both print OK to a different printer (Canon IP7250), and the Brother prints OK from other software.

I installed the latest CC updates a few weeks ago - could it be the latest versions do not support this printer?

I have uninstalled and re-installed the printer driver, updated the printer firmware, and taken advice from Brother without success.

Any suggestions?

    LR does not know anything about your printer. It's the OS that manages printers.

    Please tell us your OS as well what exactly happens or not.

    Thank you for your reply. I will ask Microsoft as you suggest, but if it is the operating system (Windows 10) at fault then why does it work OK with other software?

    As soon as I select print to the Brother printer in both LR and PS I get this error message.

    If I select print to my Canon printer it prints OK.

    So far Windows has not notified me of any solutions.
