Question

Bug in Lightroom? Guided Upright / Rotation

Hi there, on the advice of Todd Shaner https://forums.adobe.com/people/Todd%20Shaner  I'm reposting a possible programming bug in Lightroom. I hope this is the right forum to do that.

Problem/Bug is: Crop-Rotation can not be locked-in before working with the "guided upright"-tool, even though it's displayed as an option in the "transform"-menu. Lightroom is automatically resetting the crop-rotation before applying the perspective correction, leading to erroneous results.

Here's the original discussion:

guided upright vs rotation

My detailed explanation of the problem is in the 12th post:

Re: guided upright vs rotation

Hope this is the right forum to post this.

Cheers, S

Todd was referring to the official feedback forum, where Adobe wants all bugs reported: Lightroom Classic | Photoshop Family Customer Community .  Adobe product developers read everything posted there and usually (but not always) confirm the bug and enter it into their internal bug-tracking system. Infrequently they'll reply. The more precise the steps you provide for reproducing the bug, the more likely Adobe will be able to reproduce it -- if they can't reproduce it, they typically will ignore it. Don't assume the Adobe support person following the recipe is an expert at using LR -- some are, but most are not, so you should be fairly precise in describing the steps.  Be sure to include the first ten lines from Help > System Info.

Unfortunately, simply providing links to other threads with details of how to produce the bug often results in Adobe not paying attention.
