Question

CAMERA PROFILES

Hi everyone! I’m switching from Canon to Sony.

Lightroom Classic offers Camera Matching profiles for the Sony A1, but not for the A7 V, and my RAW files just don’t look good without them.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the colors and skin tones while waiting for Adobe to add Camera Matching profiles for the A7 V?

Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated!

You're right — the A7 V (ILCE-7M5) is supported for raw, but Adobe hasn't shipped Camera Matching profiles for it yet. Per Adobe's supported cameras list, Camera Matching shows as "No" for the A7 V, and raw support for it requires Lightroom Classic 15.1 or newer, so make sure you're fully updated.

A few workarounds in the meantime:

    - In the Develop module, open the Profile Browser (Profile panel) and try the Adobe profiles — Adobe Color, Adobe Standard, or Adobe Portrait are good starting points, especially for skin tones.

    - You can build your own calibrated profile for the A7 V with a color checker target (e.g. an X-Rite/Calibrite ColorChecker) and Adobe's free DNG Profile Editor.

    - Fine-tune skin tones with white balance plus the HSL/Color panel (orange/red hue and saturation).

New camera support and profiles arrive with Lightroom Classic updates, so keep the app updated.
