Question

Can I go from Web Gallery module directly into Adobe Portfolio?

I have photographs I want to post for a client to proof, and I don't want to give them the ability to right click and save so I want to put a large light gray watermark on the photos and then share them online. I am using Lightroom Classic on a Windows 10 PC.

I've found 2 ways to share photos - Option 1) web gallery mocule to the web and Option 2) sync to the web and then export to Adobe Portfolio.

Option 1:

My question is as to whether there is a way to go directly from the web gallery to the Adobe portfolio? I like the watermark and photo numbering parts of Web Gallery, and the ability to change the layout. I don't have a website where I can ftp the web gallery, so I was hoping there was a way to go directly to the Portfolio.

Option 2:

I understand about syncing a collection and sharing that lightroom.adobe.com collection with Portfolio. However, short of using Photoshop to add the watermark, I can't figure out an easier way to do it using this method.

Any other easy ideas for watermarking and sharing photos?

Thanks,

Marcy

No, they are separate features - web module dating from early Lightroom, Portfolio from the Behance service acquired by Adobe and integrated with PS. If you want Portfolio images to be watermarked, export JPEGs from LR with a watermark and then get them into Portfolio either by uploading directly or by reimporting the JPEGs into LR and syncing those copies.

You might also look into sharing collections from your lightroom.adobe.com account. This is more flexible as it automatically updates with changes that you may make after sharing the URL - eg new images, removing images, refining adjustments. Again it has right click protection but doesn't include watermarks. There is a new collaborative proofing feature there, which may help you.

JOhn,

I had a feeling I could not do what I want. The issue I have with lightroom.adobe.com is that I have to ask my client to create a login, which I don't want to do. He is not really computer saavy, and I want to keep it easy for him.

I think I'll watermark them in Photoshop, sync to lightroom.adobe.com, and then export to Portfolio. In Portfolio, I can set up a grid so he can choose which photos he wants telling me line and row numbers. That seems to be the best way I can think of to do what I want to do.

Thanks so much for your help,

Marcy
