I had to rebuild my laptop.  I am using Lightroom Classic 6.x and can no longer open Canon 5DMkIV CR2's.  I installed Adobe DNG.  What so I need to do?

The 5D Mark IV was first supported by Lightroom 6.7 so, to import CR2 Raw files into Lightroom, you need to locate and install the 6.7 update.

Alternatively, use the DNG converter to convert all Mark IV CR2 files to DNG format. Then import the converted DNG files (not the CR2 files) into Lightroom 6.

I tried to upgrade the 6.0.x release and it says there are no patches / upgrades.  So how can I upgrade Lightroom?  I have several thousand 5DMkIV images that have already been edited by Lightroom.  I am not using Dual Pixel RAW.

I was using Lightroom for 5DMkIV editing before I had to rebuild my laptop.

Using Adobe DNG is not an option....  Also going to CC is not an option.

You will need to search forums for a link that works to download Version 6.14.

eg. https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic/lightroom-6-download-link/m-p/10995790?page=1

Or if you purchased and registered v6 directly from Adobe, the download (which will be 6.14) may be available from your Account.

Using Adobe DNG is not an option....

I might ask- Why not?

It is free. It keeps the exact raw image data. Files may be smaller.

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.3, Photoshop 27.5, ACR 18.3, Lightroom 9.3, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.3 .

First up, Adobe 101, cameras supported

https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html

And from that you need v6.7 (and note, the final vetsion for LR 6 was v6.14, as in six dot fourteen.)

BUT, with a note (see following reply)
