Can't access the /modules directory to install a plugin manually - Lightroom Classic, MAC OS

I  want to add the Imagely plugin directly from the Lightroom plugins manager but the Lightroom Plugin Manager won't pull up the Modules directory where the plugin file is?

The weird thing is, I was able to find and view the folder once using my terminal, but I haven't been able to see it again? Seems to have just disappeared. I know where it is meant to be but I can't even bring up the Modules directory anymore, ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules/Imagely.lrdevplugin

I used my terminal again to search for the file and it was in directory path above but I can't see it using any LS command from the terminal or using go to folder in Finder.

Yes, tried that but it did not ask me for a password? Still did not locate it.


Let's detangle the issues here.

One of your posts refers to ~/Library and another says /Library -- they're two different folders.  ~/Library refers to /users/current-user/Library. Your screenshot shows the contents of ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom, while the Imagely documentation says its installer places the plugin in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules.  To troubleshoot what's going on:

1. Exit LR.

2. In Finder, do Go > Go To Folder and type /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.  Do you see the Modules folder there, and in the Modules folder, do you see ImagelyLr.lrdevplugin? 

3. If you don't see ImagelyLr.lrdevplugin, rerun the Imagely installer.

4. In Finder, if you still don't see ImagelyLr.lrdevplugin in /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Modules, stop and contact Imagely support -- their installer has failed.

5. Restart LR.

6. Follow the steps starting with "To Activate the Plugin In Lightroom" in the Imagely documentation.  LR should definitely automatically add the plugin -- you shouldn't need to manually add it.  But if you do try to manually add it, note that when you click the Add button, there is no Go > Go To Folder command to navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.  You'll have to use the keyboard shortcut Shift + Cmd + G to go to the folder.

Yes and the instructions go on to say if the plugin is not visible use the plugins manager within lightroom to find the Modules folder and add it from there.

If it were that simple it would be done by now. The problem is as per my post, the Modules folder does not appear where it is meant to, /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom, although I was able to find it once using the Mac Terminal, now I can't.

Method 3

     The following method makes the user Library folder permanently visible.

Note:

Adobe recommends that only advanced users use this method.

Launch Terminal from Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities.

From within Terminal, type the following command and press Return:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

    

Enter the system administrator password, if prompted, and press Return.

    2. The system administrator password is not visible as you type it. 

    3. Close Terminal. The Library folder is now permanently visible in the Finder
