Can't delete images in lightroom

I recently upgraded my lightroom to the new Adobe Lightroom classic CC on my MAC lap top and now cannot delete images in lightroom. Every time I try it says "however number of files cannot be moved to trash." This happens even when all photographs are selected. It doesn't matter if one image is selected, or multiple. Help!!

    Hi amyd,

If your files are large and your free space is small, the OS will deleted the oldest/largest files instead of storing them in the trash. Could this be what is happening? Start with an empty trash bin and then try to delete an image from inside LR.

You may refer this discussion Lightroom: Can't move files to the trash "Volume does not support trash" error on MacOS 10.10 Yosemite | Photoshop Famil… and let us know if that helps.

    Thanks,

After the same problem of not being able to delete from disc in my Lightroon Classic v 8,4,1, I solved it by going to the top level folder on my hard drive that stores ALL my original photos and changing the properties from Read Only. Just clear the box (uncheck it) you will be asked if you want this to apply to all sub folders and files, Click yes and it will take a couple of minutes to do it, Go back to Lightroom and do right click and Synchronize Folder and click show imported photos. Then right click images and choose 'Delete from Disc' and it should work fine. It is the 'Read Only' setting that stops Lightroom from deleting off your disc.
