Can't export - LR Classic 11.5/ OS 10.15.7

Having trouble exporting - LR Classic 11.5/ OS 10.15.7 on iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015 with over 200GB available on the 2tb hard drive, all the files involved are stored there.
When I click export, the app freezes entirely, and I have to force quit LR classic.

A few times, it has started to work very, very slowly - like 1 file every 2-3 minutes - it's gone maybe 1/10 through the catalog (which has 900 files) and then stopped.

I have checked the catalog integrity, etc.

After reading other support questions, I tried the following:
I have uninstalled/reinstalled Creative Cloud twice now, with restarting the computer between each step as sugested in anotehr support thread, and I have also deleted LR preferences (via shift option on app startup) 

I have disabled the graphics processor under the "performance" tab in preferences.

In my computer preferences/security and privacy/ full disk access, Lightroom is now checked.
Any other possible solutions? Thanks in advance.

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still crashing? 

Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still crashing? 

You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still crashing?

Is your anti-virus scanning the original photos, or scanning the folder where you export to?

Welcome to the Lightroom community. I will help you figure this out.

 

Where are the original images stored & where are you exporting to? Does export work when destined to the internal drive? 

Please share a screenshot of the export settings you are using.

Try this step on the external drive.

  • Search for Disk Utility from Finder's spotlight search or magnifying glass.
  • Run 'First Aid' diagnostic on the external drive. Check this to learn more: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210898
  • Restart the computer
