Can't import images?

I was just chatting to Kimber of customer support about this when my internet went down (I work in countries without reliable internet). Adobe now will no longer let me access customer support and re-direct me to this page.

The issue - which only started today - is that LR will no longer recognise ARW files.  It recognises jpgs and offers to import them, but does not see ARW files.  The camera is a Sony A7ii and I have used it with LR for over 4 months with no problems.

My LR version is 7.0.1 and I use OS Sierra 10.12.6
