Question

Can't import some NEF files into LR Classic although they are not in the catalog

I have some NEF files on a "Drafts" directory in my hard drive.

I  copy all my memeory card NEF files into this draft directory, and  then I import them to lightroom catalog and MOVE them into seperate direcrories based on their date.

Most files are handled well, but some files remain in the drafts directory and are not imported.

To verify, I looked their file names in the lightroom catalog and I did't find them.

Any idea what can I do?

Did you click on "All Photographs" and then search by file name using the Lightroom Classic menu bar? Did you first turn off all filters before doing the search?

Yes (for both action), but they are still hrayed out. I tried to llok them inother foldrers but they still persist on the Drafts folder.

Thanks!

Some screen-clips of the errant files in Windows File Explorer, and greyed-out in the Import dialog of LrC, night help with an answer. Also show us your Filter Search options to look for one of the images.

Use the [Insert Photos] icon above you next post and do not 'Attach' the screen-clips! (Not all forum members can view attached files.)

And /Or-  Supply one of the files for others to test- using dropbox or another file sharing app.

Perhaps try the Import again from the "Drafts" folder.

Do these files that won't import have unusual filenames? Is it possible they are corrupt for some reason?

Will these files 'not imported' show in Bridge, or Open directly in Photoshop?

But can I suggest that you are making the process more complicated than is necessary.

In ONE Import dialog you can do everything in one step- Import from the memory card directly to dated folders. (Thus you avoid- manual download, an empty 'drafts' folder, and moving files to selective dated folders.)

Hi

I tried to impoert them several timem they are grayed out in LRC as if they are imported, but my import process is to MOVE them to a different directory and they are still only in the Drafts directory.

The  files have usual names, coming directrly from my Nokon camera (for example DSC_9631).

I vae this problem only with thpse files.

 Thanks!
