Can't validate Gmail settings with Lr Classic's export with email feature

I was trying to show someone how this work and realized that my setup was gone...so 

 

I went to Export with Email and saw that my gmail account was not configured. So I attempted to add Gmail and hit the  Validate button...see the screenshot, it won't validate.

 

My gmail credentials are correct.

 

What could be going on here?
