Question

Can you apply different tone curves to one photo?

Hi all,

I have one major issue with my Lightroom edits. I love vintage type of edits. I shoot a lot of portraits with landscapes as a background. My issue is that my tone curve editing make the background and surrundings look nice, but is not very flattering for the faces. Too many contrast, blacks etc. which I want to have in the picture but not in the face. I of course use a brush to minimalize the shades, contrasts etc but you cannot take away the tone curve editing just from the part of the picture. How to deal with this? Would appreciate your support. Haven't found anything so far,

Thank you,

Alicja

Lightroom can't do this with tone curves. You could brush the entire photo with higher contrast (or other modifications) and then erase the brush over the face.

    Photoshop, sure, this is possible.
