Cannot create new LRClassic catalogue

Hello there, a happy new year to all of you!

Ok, here's my problem. I have the creative cloud for LR, LRClassic and PS and a Windows computer (this is January 2nd, 2024).

I have created new catalogues quite a few times in the past. A few days ago I tried the same, but the dialogue box shows me the files and external hard drives that are connected to the pc and I can choose the ext. hard drive that I want to create a new LRClassic catalogue for and nothing happens. I can open folders, but the option "erstellen" in German ("create"?) does not show up once I have opened f.e. the external hard drive or just clicked once at the HD. It happens also with the other ext. HD, so it cannot be a problem of the hard drive, sorry, I am not  a techie at all .

Can somebody help?

What often happens is that people fail to see that they need to give the catalog a name first. It's at the very top middle of the dialog (at least on my Mac). As long as you have not entered a name, you won't get a button to create the catalog (which makes sense). By the way, today is January 1st, 2024.

Oops, ahead of my time. I am going to try tomorrow again and look closely. As I wrote, I created several catalogues in the past and had no trouble. Did the dialogue box change? I 'll see tomorrow. Thanks for answering!

The dialog is the standard OS 'Save as' dialog. If it changed, then that would be because you updated your OS and that caused it to change. Normally a name is already filled in when you use this dialog in various applications. But not when you create a new catalog, so this can be confusing, even if you did use it before to create new catalogs.
