Cannot delete an MP4 file.

When I see an MP4 file made by mistake in lieu of a photograph and try to delete it, Lightroom almost always says "The file named blahblah.mp4 cannot be moved to the Recycle Bin." But that message NEVER says WHY is that so.

That is an obvious, glarig error, which must be rectified. 1st off delete wish should be respected, and if something really legitimately prevents it, the message should state why: file open, file not found etc, anything.

Please share the system info from Lightroom Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

How large are the videos, and where do you keep them? Internal, or external drive? Does this happen with videos imported recently?

This error is infrequently reported, and it can happen when Lightroom is still rendering the preview for the video, insufficient storage in the machine, or any underlying permissions issue.

Try to delete the video after a few seconds and check if that helps. You can also use 'Show in explorer' and delete the video from the explorer.

The video files are resident together with the images. They come from the memory card. Size varies, of course, but in most cases these are a few seconds videos made by mistake in lieu of making images. I suspect the same reason for this issue: processing or open file but that is elementary to solve: Queue the request instead of showing an erratic message without explanation of the reson.
