Cannot import earlier imported photos after reinstalling Lightroom Classic

Hi! Recently, LR Classic stopped working for me. I ended up reinstalling it. I immediately noticed that my earlier work apparently had dissappeared. Anoying but no disaster as I have all files (originals and exported jpegs). But, the problem is that I cannot again import photos that I had imported earlier. LR says "it seems like this photo is a duplicate of a photo in the catalog". How can I access earlier import, or make repeat imports? Thanks a lot for your insights! / Mats T, Sweden

Importing is the wrong thing to do. DO NOT IMPORT

 

What you have to do is find the photos in the existing catalog. Please follow all four of these steps in order:


1. In the Lightroom Classic Library Module, on the left, under Catalog, click on All Photographs
2. Turn off all filters (Ctrl-L once or twice)
3. Turn off all stacking (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
4. Search for at least one of these photos by file name using the Lightroom Classic Filter Bar

I think I found the reason for the problem now. After my import, I had adjusted a folder name on the computer - beginners error! I am terribly sorry! Thanks for taking your time! / Mats

Let's back up a step. What do you see, and where do you see it, such that you think "I immediately noticed that my earlier work apparently had dissappeared"? Please be specific and detailed. Your work should not disappear, and probably did not disappear.

 

If possible, please show us a screen capture of what you see. Use the "Insert Photos" icon to include your screen capture in your reply. Do not attach files.

Thanks dj_paige for responding!

First, my "disapperaed work" may relate to me moving old photos to external hard drives the wrong way. I will do it the right way going forward.

My main issue now is that I cannot import photos uploaded to my computer before I reinstalled LR (v 13.5.1). See screen dump below (sorry, I have LR in Swedish):

It works fine with photos uploaded after the reinstall. See this dump:

Sorry again! It should be: I cannot import photos uploaded from camera to my computer AFTER I reinstalled LR (v 13.5.1). It works fine with photos uploaded to the computer before the reinstall.
