It's now 2024 and I work for more than 40 years with Adobe...why can't you fix the problem with LRC or L and .mov files which every Iphone produces nowadays.... No converting or whatsoever but just fix the code for LRC and L for importing and archieving VIDEO (.mov or .mp4 or whatsoever) !!!! We are in the new age century right? Please Adobe give some priority to this issue.

My problem ended up being that iCloud for photos downloaded all the .MOV files corrupted.

Unfortunately I ended up having to figure this out on my own. I did not track the time I spent on chat with technical support but it must have been close to 2 hours. The tech support agent basically left me stranded in chat and not respinding to my questions after he requested that we should close the chat.  He determined that since he was able to transfer a test .MOV file that the issue was on my end. Well thanks but no thanks.

I had to ask him, do you think I should attenpt to redownload the files and he basically said you can try.

I felt his English skills were sub par and it was very difficult to understand his writing.

I am not the most technical dude and a part time photography hobbyist.  I find LRC is a great product but its complexity combined with the few hours a month I use it, would qualify me as a inexperienced user.

Well at least I resolved it on my own.

I redownloaded them I believe the next day, and they were OK and not corrupt and LRC accepted them.

I have a decent Lenovo computer and I believe the issue is Windows 11 File Explorer.  I now  have issues with data for both MOV abd MP4 files such as video time and length not being displayed or downloaded correctly in File Explorer, when I donwload directly from iCloud.  I also have had many issues with Windows Photo App.

I am seriously considering dumping Windows computers altogether and going 100% Apple, It will likely resolve a lot of head aches.

State your hardware and your LrC and OS version. I have no issues with importing .MOV movies (or playing after they have been imported) from my iPhone XR into Lightroom Classic 13.2. MacBook Pro M1 Max, MacOS 14.4.
