Cannot open images from memory card in LrC, but they do open in LR.

What does “fails to open” mean? At what step in the process does this happen? What do you see on your screen that indicates “fails to open”? If there is an error message, please quote the complete exact unedited word-for-word error message.

Also, ​@Dick_Davis , I explained this previously, it would help everyone if you followed this advice. “... the new forum is so poorly designed that a lot of people are confused. The first dialog box when you create a post is the title (even though it doesn’t say that), you should enter a few words like ‘Options missing in masking’. The next dialog box is where you put the details.” Please help us all out.

Hey, @Dick_Davis. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. I'll help you figure this out.

Make sure that any applications that might access the memory card or camera (such as Nikon's software) are closed before opening Lightroom Classic.

1. Adjust AutoPlay Settings (Windows):

   • Open the Control Panel.

   • Select AutoPlay.

   • In the Camera Storage section, set the option to Take no action in the Memory card pop-up menu.

   • Click Save and close the Control Panel.
