Question

Cannot print centre of page

Hello.

I have a really annoying problem. On my Canon 8750 no matter what I try, I cannot get the print to resemble the print preview with regards to position.

I print in 5x7, 6x4, and 10x8 paper. I have presets in Lightroom to print with a border, all the same size on all 4 sides. But when I print one side will always be half the size of the others - it prints off centre. Only with Lightroom though.

I've checked the printer settings. Tried borderless and not, tried all the page extension settings, checked and rechecked page setup in Lightroom etc. No dice. All I want is for the damn image to be where I put it.

Help 🙂

Im using Windows 11, always latest updates applied. Using Lightroom Classic, again always kept up to date.

Is this a new problem? Has it ever worked correctly?

I had a friend who has printing difficulties with LrC and his big Canon printer. He used the Canon print utility with good results.

If it were me in your situation, I would totally uninstall the printer in Win 11 and start a fresh driver install.

I know it's not helpful in your situation but my Epson P800 prints perfectly in LrC and Win 11, so I think it's something unique to the Canon.

Hi. It has just started, it used to be fine. I've uninstalled and re-installed all the drivers, tested again just now, and no dice. Exactly the same. I've attached some screen shots to show the settings. They show the layout in Lightroom, and the setting and printer preview. The resulting print has a border 1/2 the size of the other on the left of the image, the top of the printer preview.

Again, Lightroom only. Shall test Bridge now.

Workaround, or perhaps a workflow change, I do not know. And I do it know if you are already doing this or similar.

Create a virtual copy, crop to the ratio desired (5x7, 6x4, 8x10, 10x8, whatever) (actually virtual copy optional, if you do it mind going back and forth applying crops, or un-applying crops) Print using that cropped version. Point being to remove any ambiguity on what to print.

Hi. Same thing happens. I think it is the printer itself.
