Question

Cannot print from LrC to printer EPSON 3880

My printer EpSON Pro 3880 ( driver version 13.26) is connected directly to my MacBook Pro M1 Max with a USB-B / USB- C male Cable ( no hub) . From the Print module in Lightroom  I have set up US Letter and PORTRAIT orientation. I have chosen my Media type Ultra premium Photo Paper Luster and selected the sheet feeder . I have unchecked the 16 bit output in the same printer settings window.

Then I chose the ICC PROFILE ( Ultra Premium PP Luster) and Relative INTENT In the Color management Menu. When I hit PRINT in Lightroom, I can see “preparing Print Job.” But when I open the Epson Print center window I can see my printer is in USE but not printing. What I can do to fix this issue ?

Just now I successfully made a print on my Epson 3880 from Lightroom Classic on my Mac, so it should still work.

But there is some info missing from your post, so fill us in and maybe someone can figure it out:

    • What version of macOS are you running? My Mac is on 26.7.2.
    • What version of Lightroom Classic are you running? I’m on 15.6.
    • When was the last time it worked? Since then, have there been any major changes to the configuration such as upgrading to macOS 27?
    • Does it stall at “Preparing Print Job…” only in Lightroom Classic, or in other applications including Adobe and non-Adobe applications? In other words, can you successfully print from any other application? This will help narrow down whether the problem is in Lightroom Classic, in the printer driver software, or in the OS.

I haven’t printed direct through USB in many years because I like using network printing instead (because I can put the printer farther from the computer and print to it from any computer). So my Epson 3880 is connected using Ethernet, but I don’t think that should make any difference if everything is working. However, it suggests that one thing you could try (just in case) is a different USB cable.
