Canon R6MarkII lightroom can't read cr3

i've searched here and most people say to update lightroom

i'm running lightroom classic 12.3 and camera raw 15.3 on a mac. I just got the R6II and lightroom won't read the files.

they are on the disk, but won't open.

I also can't seem to find where I can speak to a human about this?

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw?

I think i figured it out. there are heic? copies also and they are the ones that wouldn't load. I didn't even know they were being taken as I thought I set it to raw only. if I unchecked those, the pictures load.
