Caption editing crashes

I am still experiencing crashes and off behaviour while editing captions and, to a lesser extent, titles in Lightroom Classic.

The attached screen recording shows characters at the end of a caption disappearing in edit mode but reappearing when leaving edit mode. Finally, I select-all and paste the correct text to clear the characters. This occurred in the default metadata display. I moved to Large Caption display mode to better see all the text.

Another failure mode is when clicking in the caption box to edit an existing caption, the box goes all white, the existing text disappears, and any new typing is not shown. When this happens, a crash is imminent. See my recent crash logs over the last two days.

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s? Microsoft’s? Apple’s?

I'm pretty sure it was Adobe's crash report and I used my email address.

I will let you know next time it happens

Did you try resetting preferences as suggested above by @johnrellis ??

1. When submitting the crash logs, did you provide the email address registered with your Adobe Id? adobe employee @Rikk Flohr: Photography can then find the logs and respond.

2. There haven't been other reports here with similar misbehavior, so it's likely something very specific to your installation. As a quick next step, try resetting LR's preferences:
https://www.lightroomqueen.com/articles-page/how-do-i-reset-lightrooms-preferences/

LR sometimes soils its preferences file, and resetting it can fix all sorts of wonky behavior. That article explains how to restore the old preferences if resetting doesn't help.

Thanks John.

1. Yes, I did use my Adobe ID on the two crash reports. I might have misspelled my email. Twice.

2. There were a lot of reports a few months ago with LrC crashing in text boxes. I'm seeing much the same behaviour again. I will reset LR prefs now, since I haven't procured another crash.

I was hoping for another crash for the debug info, but will clear
