Catalog and original images lost, only previews.lrdata available

I have lost the original images as well as the catalog and have only the previews.lrdata file (not smart preview). Is there a way to open this file and get the images?

Recovery from Previews without a Catalog is almost impossible. The .lrprev files cannot be opened by any app (other then the LrC catalog).

However you might be interested in a forum thread from 2017-

Linwood Ferguson published an .exe program for Windows- NOT Mac. 😞

The only preview recovery I know about is if the catalog is available and the previews are available but the original photos are not available. If the catalog is not available, then the only way to find the photo is by viewing the previews in your operating system, one-by-one, until you find the photo you want. And in either case, the previews are low resolution versions of your original image, not the original image.
