Catalog consolidation question

I am creating one master catalog (I know...should have done it from the beginning) and as I am doing that, I have imported my Year folders into my master catalog.  I do have catalogs in some of the month folders as well.  When Lightroom Classic imports the year folder, will it also import the catalogs as well or just the folders?  How do I grab the edits I have done in the previous catalogs?  I appreciate your guidance and wisdom.
Thanks,

Chris

Importing images that you have previously imported and processed in other catalogs it completely the wrong way to do it.

In the Lightroom Classic File menu -> Import From Another Catalog... Point that to one of your older catalogs and let it run. Then do it for all the other catalogs you want to integrate into the master one.

To fix the problem which is that you will many duplicate images in LrC, some with adjustment and others without, Find the most recent backup catalog from before you did all the unnecessary importing, open that and then use the Import from Another Catalog function.
