Catalog save and update extremely slow since december mask update

Hi,

first of all a million thanks for the mask AI new functionalities ! automatically selecting skin, objects.. this saved me hours of brushing !

I rely heavily on AI masking - almost on all my photos.

BUT

the downside of it, is that the catalog saving has become incredibely slow.

I used to have it set to "everytime I close lightroom" frequency. That was not possible anymore. It was taking more than 10 or 20 minutes, sometimes was crashing while doing so.

My "solution" for now, is that I litteraly create a separate catalog for each project (1 or 2K images). This way my catalog remains light and manageable and saving and optimisation of the catalog takes an acceptable amount of time.

But it is very much not user friendly as I often work on several projects in parallele, and go from one catalog to an other requires reboot lightroom.

How can we be informed if this is a bug at all ? (maybe there is no way to slower the catalog saving whith AI masking ?). And if possible, if you are working on it, how to get notified when it would be implemented ?

Again, first of all thanks for the new feature. No way I could go back without.

Saving?

Their is no saving in LrC.

Do you mean backing up?

the sentence; "everytime I close lightroom" appears in the options for closing LrC and is in reference to backing up. This is in the Catalog Settings, in the Backup Catalog dialog table,
