Question

Classic Can't Access Folders

My 3TB hard drive is almost full with my photos and it was slowing the computer to snail's pace. So I put put the operating system and applications on an SSD (called it iMac) and left my photos and documents on the iMac (called it MACINTOSH HD).

Classic opens fine, and I can see 131,000 photos in the right folders in the menu bar on the left. But I can't see the previews, and I can't open the photos. I get an error message saying that Classic doesn't have access to some standard folders. If I go into Privacy and Security and give Classic access to standard folders, or even full disk access, there is still no change.

Can anyone advise, please? I'm sure I'm not the only one who has split applications and files like this, indeed I believe I got the idea from this community.

Thank you

I think this is backwards, operating system and software applications should stay on the internal drive. Photos should be moved to the external drive.

Renaming drives can cause problems, but that's really not enough information to diagnose the problem.

What is the exact word for word error message?

Are there exclamation point icons on the photos or question mark icons on the folders? If so, please review the following document: https://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
