Question

Click on a preview it takes ten seconds to come to attention

I am unable to edit photos after the 14.5 update.  14.5.1 - did nothing to help.  I can no longer navigate through previews to cull images.  When I do click on a preview it takes ten seconds to come to attention.  To apply an edit it takes ten seconds for the image to show the changes.  I can't toggle between images because it takes 10 seconds to respond.  This has absolutely killed my workflow.  I have tried everything.  Went back to 14.4 but the bug remained.  Changed all sorts of settings,  created new previews for entire catalog and still nothing helps.  I have a new 2024 Macbook Pro with M4MAX - 1TB SSD and 64GB RAM.  Is anyone else experiencing this crippling bug?

Please clarify ... does this happen in the Library Module or Develop Module or both?

@dj_paige  @Aleke     The develop module.

This sounds like a problem that maybe 2-3 dozen people have reported recently here in the forums. I'm not aware of a solution. One example: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/5-7-seconds-to-load-the-next-photo/m-p/15504314#M413748

On my computer, I have had this problem, and one thing that helped was to disconnect one of my two monitors, and then Lightroom Classic was fast. Not a scientific test however, I don't know if I try this under other conditions that it would be so fast.

Hi @gifted_problem4937, sorry to hear Lightroom Classic has been giving you trouble with performance.

Could you let us know which version of macOS you're using? Also, when you get a chance, please go to Help > System Info in Lightroom Classic, copy the details into a text file, and attach it here. If it’s easier, you can also share it through Google Drive, WeTransfer, or any other file-sharing service you prefer.

Thanks so much!
Alek
