so my Lightroom Classic 20gb is FULL.

Im not sure I really need those images, do I?  when editing I use an ssd so raws and edited are all available to me.

the kind support at adobe, instead of explaining stuff just attempted to sell me firefly.  Im really trying to reduce my reliance on clouds as it simply costs

so the images I see on my cloud, I have all on a SSD? can they simply be deleted?

If you are using Lightroom Classic, the only way files can count towards your 20GB is if you captured the files using your mobile device, or if you synched them to the cloud using Lightroom (not Classic). Photos from your SSD that are synched to the Adobe Cloud using Lightroom Classic do not count towards your 20GB.

So how did those photos get to the Adobe cloud?

In the end, only you can determine if the photos in the cloud are also on your SSD. No one here across the internet knows what you have done, and no one here can really give a definitive answer. You need to determine the answer yourself.

thank you, yes I also use the mobile LR, however all images once edited are on my phone.

so my question now is...once saved, I assume I would have to reedit in its entirety if I wanted to amend an edited image if all cloud was deleted?

secondly, can I change settings to stop images getting sent to the cloud in the first place

Easy enough to try and see.

With Lightroom Classic, you have to deliberately select collections and deliberately turn on cloud sharing to share with the cloud. By default, nothing is shared with the cloud.

With Lightroom (not Classic), all the photos imported into Lightroom are shared with the cloud. There is an option to turn on that allows you to edit photos on your hard disk without sharing them to the cloud.
