Question

CMD+E (allowing editing in PS) no longer works with PS 2024

Hi,

(I wonder if I should post my question here or in the Photoshop forum).

Ever since the new PS 2024 was launched, the LR shortcut CMD+E no longer works, nor does going through the menu (Photo/Edit in/Edit in Adobe Photoshop 2024). In other words, I cannot quickly open in PS a photo I've just edited in LR. I get an error message "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched", even though PS 2024 is running. Eventually, after around 60 secs, the photo does open in PS 2024, but this is very time-consuming and quite frustrating, especially if you have dozens of photos you want to open in PS.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'd be grateful for any replies.

Many thanks in advance,

Julia

Tyically the fix for this is as follows:

  • Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App (ACCDA) to uninstall PS
  • Use the ACCDA to install PS

then test, if that fails, then repeat but add a LrC to the steps:

  • Use ACCDA to Uninstall PS
  • Use ACCDA to Uninstall LrC
  • Use ACCDA to Install PS ( you must install PS before installing LrC)
  • Use ACCDA to Install LrC

Thanks so much for this!

Meanwhile, I'm embarrassed to say, when I downloaded ACCDA to follow your instructions, I discovered I don't have the latest version of LrC (I should've checked before writing here).  When I downloaded it, the problem disappeared.

Thanks again and best wishes!
