Question

CMD E Does not work

Updated both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to updates just released this week. In Lightroom, the command "Edit in" Photoshop (command E) does not work. If I open the file in Photoshop manually it will not save it back to Lightroom.

In addition to dj_paige's questions, does invoking the menu command Photo > Edit In > Edit In Adopbe Photoshop work?  (I.e. is it just the shortcut that's not working?)

No, nothing works, see my reply above.

It works now after closing Lightroom and relaunching it! Thank you for replying!

Humor us and please tell us the exact version NUMBERs for the installed Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. I just want to rule out the possibility that one or both of your installs failed and you are actually using an earlier version without knowing it.

Also, explain what "does not work" means ... what exactly happens? what is the exact error message?

Hi, I just updated today to PS 24.0 and Lightroom Classic 12.0. When I use either the menu command or the shortcut it just sits there and does nothing. Doesn't open photoshop at all, either with or without the file I tried to open. One thing I did notice - on the menu "edit in"... it shows Photoshop 2022 as the only option. But why wouldn't that have updated too? And how do I get that to change? I'm guessing that when I updated to the new Photoshop it uninstalled the previous version.

Well this is interesting.... I just closed Lightroom and relaunched it, now the menu item Edit In... shows Photoshop 2023. I guess it just hadn't caught up yet?! It appears to work fine now!
