Color banding in Library

Hello, please, is it possible to know what is going on? I am using a Mac with Lightroom classic, and suddenly while working, one of the older imported photos (from Z6ii Nikon through cable) started showing corrupted color banding all over the image. It can be visible only in Library, when I open develop, it disappears, export is also fine. But, no matter what I restart, or regenerate preview, it is still present in the library. Is it a sign of something worse coming? Thank you very much for your time!

Correct answer Jao vdL

Probably a corruption problem with the preview database. You can have Lightroom Classic regenerate it by simply deleting the previews folder next to your catalog. restart Classic and it will start generating new previews as you go or you can then have it regenerate all new standard previews from the menu.

I was more inclined to suggest that the image files are becoming corrupt. Perhaps the beginnings of hard-drive failure. (I have seen similar images from a faulty camera.)

Are the originals stored on a NAS or any form of Cloud storage?

Strange that you can Develop and Export these files OK.

Can you 'open' these images in another app successfully? If so it would suggest the answer from @Jao vdL

Regards. My System: Windows-11, Lightroom-Classic 15.1.1, Photoshop 27.3.1, ACR 18.1.1, Lightroom 9.0, Lr-iOS 10.4.0, Bridge 16.0.2 .

Dear Rob, Jaos answer was correct an everything is alright now. Originals were on an SSD drive, but I suppose it was really the preview library. 🙂
