Question

color labels disappeared in Lightroom Classic!!!

Since I moved to macOS Catalina, my color labels have dissapeared! in Lightroom Classic!

I used them to categorize my nearly 100K number of photo's... and now I am really lost.

Can anyone give ma a hint/tip/solution for this?

Unfortunataly I have NO BACKUP from Catalina, since Time Machine sparebundle gave me huge problems...

I had to restore from High Sierra backup...

I'm fed up with Apple 😞 😞

Kind regards, Ferry

Color labels are in fact label names in a field. Lightroom shows a color if the name in that field matches the name of a label. It's possible that the upgrade only changed the color label set to a different one, so that the names in the fields do not match the names in the label set. Check menu 'Metadata - Color Label Set'. Do you have more than one set? If so, does selecting another set bring back the colors? It's also possible that you changed the label names, but never saved it as a new set. In that case you have to change the names again in this menu (and save it as a new set this time).

Problem Solved!!!

Thanks for this great advice.

I indeed did change the labelcolors without saving them as a set.

Now I added the Set, I'm happy again 🙂
