Color management not working in develop module on secondary display after updating to LRC 13

I use a portable Viewsonic Colorpro VP16 OLED screen as a second monitor for checking my photos against my main screen (dell u2718) while I am editing in the develop module due to the greater colour depth and accuracy of OLED monitors. Both monitors are software calibrated through displaycal and I have never had any problems with the ICC profile not working in color managed applications (including Lightroom Classic prior to the update). 

 

When I updated to LRC 13, the colours on the second display are far too saturated on the secondary OLED display (this only occurs in the develop module). If I use the OLED screen as my main monitor then the colors are displayed correctly. My guess is that something has gone wrong with the way lightroom applies colour management for secondary displays in the develop module. 

 

If anyone else is having this problem or knows how to fix it I would really appreciate the help. I couldn't see anything else on the forum about this but I may have just missed something.

    PS - one thing to note: All color managed applications (not just Adobe) load the monitor profile at application startup, and continue using that profile for the remainder of the session. In other words, you can't just drag the application over, you need to close and relaunch.

      Thank you for responding to this, appreciate the help. I agree that it is probably something to do with the addition of HDR and the wider colour gamut of BT2020.

       

      I still cannot seem to fix the problem for now. If I have the secondary display set to on when LRC starts up the problem persists. Also, if I swtich the secondary display to be the main display - close the application and reopen - the colours display correctly. However, if I open the put the secondary display on the same screen, the colours are still over saturated.  I have tried generating a new calibration profile but this doesn't help either.

       

      I'm on Windows 11 and have updated to LRC 13.0.1. Another thing to note is that each photo displays correctly for a second or two in the develop tab before switching to being over saturated. Very confused, might just have to roll back to v12 for now

      As Per says. No problems here with two monitors in Win 10/LrC 13.01. I can put LrC on either monitor, and it behaves correctly on both.

       

      And yes, we've seen similar questions from people who had HDR enabled in Lightroom, which is only supported in the Develop module.

        I'm not seeing this with two monitors on Windows 10, LrC 13.01.

        Version 13 has support for HDR in the Develop module, I wonder if that might have something to do with it.

        My monitors don't support HDR, and I don't know anything about it, but I suspect that using it would invalidate the monitor profile. I'm tagging @D Fosse who might be able to help you.
