Combining old catalogs into one (without moving photos)
Hi everyone,
I'm after some easy steps to help me solve my catalog problems, created of my own doing!
Please go easy on me as I'm in a bit of a state as I've been going around in circles for weeks now trying to figure out what to do with my old catalogs. I'll explain the full situation below, so you understand my predicament!
- My old computer has been retired as it was barely functioning.
- I've got six old catalogs, that I need to carry over to my new computer (well, actually to my external hard-drive).
- These old catlogs were NOT used for different purposes, merely, I used to create new ones for whatever reason as I didn't know any better. i.e I'd create Catalog 2 when I moved form a previous computer, Catalogue 3 when I got another new computer etc etc).
- I have all my actual photos organised in succinct folders on my new hard-drive exactly as I want them (as per Scott Kelby method). However, now I need to combine all of my old catalogs into one master. I do NOT want to move any of the actual photographs that I've already got organised into folder on my hard-drive. I merely want to bring over any edits, keywords, star ratings etc etc. How do I do this?
Also, once combined, will catalogs all show individually 'within' the master catalog in LR or can I just have the one?
Thanks
