Configu.lua does not fix my rendering problem in Lightroom Classic

Some users have a had problem with the new Lightroom Classic in which images were not rendering in the Library module. The issue is documented in another thread. Users are directed to install a file config.lua and that has solved the problem for many users.  It has not resolved the problem for me so I am starting a new thread.

I upgraded to LR Classic on my Windows 7 machine.  I have reinstalled the software twice and verified my drivers are up to date but I still have the problem where the image will appear in the navigation window but not in the filmstrip or in the main Library panel.  I thin I either have  a bad  version of config.lua and or I have another problem.  When I examine config.lua with Notepad, here is what I see:

Tools = {

OldBackupImplementation = true,

}

In previous thread, it was stated "

The System Info dialog (Help > System Info) should display the config.lua flags entry as shown below:

Config.lua-Flags:

AgView.disableDirect2D = true"

When I check the system info reported in Lightroom here is what I get:

Can someone please verify that I have the correct content in config.lua and if so, suggest the next steps.

    Correct answer Ian Lyons

    You have the wrong config flag. The version you have relates to the catalog backup procedure. Fortunately, it's fairly easy to fix. First make a copy of the config.lua file you have and save it to another folder outside of the location it's in now. Next open the original backup config file in a text editor and replace the existing text with 'AgView.disableDirect2D = true' (no quotes) then save the file as config.lua
