Copied LRC catalog to new drive and lost most of my edits and keywords

I've been trying to fix this for a couple days now and keep running into issues.

 

WHAT I DID:

My 2TB PHOTO DRIVE which contains both my LRC catalog folder as well as all my photos was nearly out of space so I copied this drive to a new 4TB drive. When I opened the catalog from the new drive nearly all of my edits and keywords didn't show up. I'm not freaking out yet as I still have the original library and photos on my 2TB drive but I can't figure out how to get this copied catalog to look and behave like the original. 

What did I do wrong here? How could I have done this better? How do I fix it?

Not sure How you copied the catalog but I only use Carbon Copy Cloner and I have never had an issue…I think it only for Macs but not sure…

Carbon Copy Cloner is also what I use to clone my drives and folders.

On the new drive, did you Import the photos? Yes or no?

I'm trying to remember exactly what I've done as I've tried a few things. I think previously I imported the photos and was unable to see my edits. So currently started over and did a "find missing photos" and the bulk of my catalog was in there. So on the master folder I clicked "synchronize folder" and it seems to be adding all the photos to where they are meant to be. There are tens of thousands of phtos so it's taking a bit. Still not sure if the edits will show up or not. Fingers crossed.

None of those steps sounds correct. I advise you to start over, erase whatever you copied to the 4TB drive. Then copy (not move) the working catalog and photos on your 2TB drive to the new 4TB drive.

 

Then, open the catalog file by double-clicking on it. If folders have ? icons, follow these instructions: https://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm

 

That's it. Do NOT import the photos again. Do NOT synchronize folders.
