Question

Copying/exporting from a collection to folder classic

I have a 300 image "best of" smart collection  that draws on photos with certain rating.

I want to export actual copies of those images, which are located  in folders across a my folder strucuture, into a separate single folder which my MAC can use as desktop wall paper.

I don't want images pulled from their exisiting folder locations

I could create three hundred virtual copies and laboriously move them...but my MAC can't read them  as they are not actual JPG or PNG files.

Any suggestions??

Do I have any options??

I think you misunderstand the use of collections vs folders

No need for a special folder

Fortunately, LrC never requires you to do this. As explained by @Conrad_C you can export from the Smart Collection. This is one of the great benefits of LrC in this situation, it knows where the photos are, it knows what folders they are in, so you don't have to rely on a step that performs "images pulled from their existing folder locations".

Another option (although I like Conrad's suggestion) is to go to the smart collection, select all photos (Ctrl-A on Windows, Cmd-A on Mac) then go to All Photographs and just those 300 photos in the smart collection are selected. Again, with these 300 photos selected, do an export.

I might be missing something, but you should simply be able to select the Smart Collection so that it’s the source you’re viewing, choose Edit > Select All so that all images in that source are seleced, then click the Export button and export copies of those to the folder where you store wallpaper images. Export creates copies, it does not move originals.

Exporting from collections or smart collections is a routine thing to do.
