CoreSync ruining my Internet

I have been trying to resolve this issue for several weeks now. I was working away from home on my laptop and decided to use my 100GB from CC to sync what I was working on in LR back to my home PC (RAW files, LR catalogue and some exports). The sync stalled about halfway. Thereafter I started having serious issues with my Internet speed and reliability. Searching online I found that people have had issues with the CoreSync process in CC for years. What I didn't find was a solution. I have shut down the CC services and disabled CoreSync on my Mac, but it still starts up spontaneously and completely ruins my Internet. Right now I'm lucky to get 1.5Mbps down when usually I get 30-40Mbps. It impacts all devices on the same connection, phone, tablet, laptop, etc.

I need a solution, and I need it yesterday. I deliver most of my photo & video assets online and at these speeds uploads are taking hours if they complete at all. I'm due to renew CC in about a month and if this isn't fixed I'm off to Capture One, DaVinci Resolve and Affinity.
