I have a corrupt catalog that will not allow me to open lightroom.  I don't care about previous catalogs or saving anything previous.  I have tried fixing, but I'm limited on computer wizardry.  I would like to remove all catalogs and lightroom.  Re

Take a look in the folder where you have the catalog. Do you have an lrcat.lock file there? If so, delete it, and the catalog will open again.

This file is put there while Lightroom is open, to prevent multiple instances of the catalog to be opened. It will be deleted in a normal exit. But if Lightroom crashes or your machine loses power, this lock file can be left behind. That will prevent the catalog from opening, until that file is removed.
