Question

Could not update AI settings for (x) photos

I need help! I'm doing a large event edit -- everything was going fine, edited a bunch yesterday successfully, and now today when I try to copy/paste edits, batch edit, etc, this error message will pop up "could not update AI settings for (however many) photos". I've tried updating LRC, restarting computer, working on even just 2 pictures, nothing works.

A problem I ran into today, that is not at all your problem, was resolved for some strange reason by saving the metadata to the files. I noticed I had many (perhaps all) files with the metadata issue (specifically I could not select multiple shots in the filmstrip).

Might be something odd going on with metadata. You might want to check on that.

hmm, that may have bee a fluke, As you can see in my screenshot i used to show the metadata issue, I have another folder with the issue, but dang, if that folder does not have an issue with selecting multiple images in the filmstrip.

Did you copy/paste Generative Remove edits? If so, you need to update the remove in the remove panel. The 'Update AI Settings' menu does not work (yet) for this.

Nope, nothing being removed. Just general batch edits (specifically subject mask and background mask)

Does LrC indicate that those photos are missing??

No! I'm able to work on them individually and, unfortunately, have been doing the batch edit and then individually I have to update the ai settings for background and then subject. It's a time killer.

It's not clear if you've tried this: In Library, select all the affected photos and do the menu command Photo > Develop Settings > Update AI Settings. It's ok if you select photos that don't need updating -- LR will just skip over them.
