Create Stack not working in windows

Hello, I usually work with an Apple Macbook Air M1 and a MSI Vector GP66 (Nvidia RTX3080 16GB) , with the Lightroom Classic 14.2 libraries and photos on a fast external drive ssd SanDisk.
Windows 11 24H2, MacOs 15.3.1 and Lightroom 14.2 latest updated version.

Historically, when I switch from Mac to Windows and open the catalog, images are not stacked in the MacOS version, which is frustrating.

There is no possibility to stack the photos again, and I can’t work, because often I take pictures of interiors with different exposures and then HDR with more photos.

Can someone please help me? or is there an Adobe Help Center with certified technical assistants to contact?

User since 2023 and I have always encountered this problem. on MacOs no problems, on Windows lack of stacked photos.

I'm a bit confused. In you original description you say "Historically, when I switch from Mac to Windows and open the catalog, images are not stacked in the MacOS version" Are you saying that on the Mac, the four images selected and shown in the 'No stack option' screen shot are stacked? When you open this catalog on the Windows PC, the same four images do not appear stacked and the Stack option is greyed out (disabled)?

 

If this is the case, what happens if you unstack the four photos on your Mac, then switch back to your Windows PC and try to stack the four photos?

Can you confirm that your catalog is on your external ssd and that you are swapping this drive from Mac to Windows machines and vice versa?

Yes it is. I confirm.

I have to say that now after 3 hours and some Denoising operation, I can see again pictures stacked.

When I switch from macOS to Windows, in Lightroom Classic on Windows, pictures are not stacked and there is not the possibility to do it, to be more clear. thank you
